Garage Recess is an independently run collection of real garages, setups, and stories from collectors, drivers, riders, architects, builders, and enthusiasts around the world.
I started Garage Recess while working on my own home garage. What began as a personal search for ideas, inspiration, products, builds, and practical how-to’s quickly turned into something bigger. The more I looked, the more I found people who cared about their garages with the same level of obsession I did.
Some were architect-designed spaces built around remarkable cars. Some were home workshops shaped slowly over years of use. Some were highly refined, others perfectly imperfect, rich with patina, tools, machines, And plenty of memories.
Those spaces and people stuck with me.
Garage Recess exists to document them and share them with the broader garage-life community. It is for anyone who cares about the garage, whether you are setting up your first space, upgrading the one you have, designing around cars and machines, or simply looking for ideas from people who have built something worth seeing.
New garage features are published regularly, documenting the spaces where modern enthusiasts, builders, collectors, and designers spend their time.
If that sounds like your kind of thing, subscribe to Garage Recess and come spend some time in the garage.
Life’s short. Spend it in the garage.
